VICTOR, N.Y. (May 19, 2009) — Info Directions, leading developer of net-centric billing, rating, order management, workflow and selling solutions for the telecommunications industry, was recently honored by the Rochester Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication (STC) with the Merit Award for its CostGuard® Online Help feature in the society's annual publications competition.

The Info Directions Documentation Team of Tom Formicola, Heather Germani, Elaine Lanni and Beth Noble were honored for the Online Help development initiative related to the company’s telecommunications operations and billing solution, CostGuard.  Online Help replaced CostGuard’s printed documentation, offering users an easy-to-use search platform with access to context-sensitive information from anywhere in the software.  Five printed volumes totaling more than 3,000 pages of reference material were adapted for Online Help.

“Our goal is to provide our users with the information they need, when they need it. We are pleased that our Online Help feature has been recognized for the value that it delivers to our clients,” said Tim Wrona, Vice President of Product Marketing.

The Merit Award was presented to the Info Directions team at the annual Spectrum conference held at the Rochester Hyatt. The STC recognizes the outstanding accomplishments and innovations of technical communicators who design and develop technical promotional, reference or training content. Local members of the STC judge submissions from peers that include electronic and hard copy content.  All entrants receive detailed comments from the judges’ evaluation.
