KEY SKILLS:

• Web applications testing experience – 2-3 years at least

GENERAL STATEMENT

The purpose of this position is to provide Software Quality Assurance (SQA) and Testing of CostGuard and its affiliated products.  (A telecom rating, billing and customer care package.)  The QA II position is an experienced SQA role that will typically own domain expertise in a major functional area of the product(s).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Test planning:  Involvement in test strategy, creation of Test Plans, Tests and project tasks associated with assigned work.  Help to create data strategies, environment plans and project task estimations. Develop domain knowledge of IDI’s business and multiple products.  Provide input into risk and risk mitigation.
• Quality Assurance:  review and test business and functional requirements, review and test product design and specifications
• Test Execution:  Prepare test environments, complete setup of data and execute tests on assigned project work
• Reporting:  Author succinct, neutral and appropriate defects that can be represented in a triage setting.   Provide timely status on project work and contribute to “lessons learned” activities. Represent the test team in project meetings.
• Technical:  Knowledge of Microsoft platforms and products including .NET, VB and SQL. 
• Leadership in QA:  Contribute to process improvement in the organization.  Collaborate with QA team members to improve knowledge or skill.  Review team member’s work and provide helpful feedback.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be knowledgeable with Microsoft application tools.
• Requires a minimum 3 years of experience in Quality Assurance software testing or related experience, training or skills.
• Must be detail oriented and have the ability to use critical thinking for problem isolation.
• Must have the ability to communicate issues in written and oral form in a clear and concise manner.
• Experience with relational databases – specifically Microsoft SQL Server and transact SQL language is required.
• Telecom billing experience preferred/helpful.
 
EDUCATION:

Requires Bachelor’s degree in a related field or commensurate experience in the software or related industry.  Specific training in QA tools or processes is helpful.
